Fresh mint

I know everyone is thinking about new year's eve and their perfect outfit but I am just more inspired by next season's bright colors... While preparing the post on neon sweaters I fell in love with mint green and I'm obsessing about how to include this color in my wardrobe. My inspiration was this Acne sweater already seen in the neon sweaters post, but it's so perfect that it deserves to be shown again.

Here is my selection of mint green. I will start by trying out Dior's waterlilly nail polish, and then probably the Acne sweater.

How about you, are you also in love with mint green? Which item would you pick?

1. Essie Mint Candy Apple and Dior Waterlilly, 2. Equipment mint silk shirt (buy at Net-a-Porter here), 3. Topshop sweater (buy here), 4. Wanderlust gold and mint bracelet (buy here), 5. Repetto ballet flat (buy here), 6. Topshop knot front shirt (buy here), 7. Asos belt (buy here), 8. Paige mint verdugo jeans (buy at shopbop here)

Simple glitter and a touch of red

Simple glitter and a touch of red is what I will be wearing tonight. A simple long sleeve mini dress with just the right amount of glitter not to be confused with the Christmas tree, a basic pair of pointy black pumps and red gold on my nails...

Alice+Olivia Nala dress, Louboutin pumps, Dior Apparat nail polish.

How about you, what are you wearing tonight?

Merry Christmas!

Neon sweaters and a great affordable neon satchel/clutch

Lookbook Essentiel FW 20011/12
I have been obsessed with neon colors for some time (have a look at my previous neon post), but I was waiting to get closer to spring to try out this trend. That was until I found this pink sweater at Essentiel Antwerp. I have been to this shop several times this season, and I had seen their neon sweaters in the past, but for some reason I didn't really "see" them. I didn't buy this sweater but it inspired me to do this post and most importantly to start looking for serious options for a new (future) neon sweater. Even though I just bought two great sweaters on the Net-a-Porter sale, since none of them is neon and because a girl who is always as cold as me can never have too many sweaters I decided to start looking for the perfect new sweater.

This is what I found, I hope you like this selection. My favorite is Acne's mint green sweater, so fresh! What's yours?

1. Burberry Brit neon orange sweater (buy at mywardrobe here), 2. T by Alexander Wang hooded sweater (buy at Mytheresa here), 3. Acne mint green sweater (buy at Matches Fashion here), 4. Zara pink sweater (buy here), 5. Topshop pink sweater (buy here), 6. T by Alexander Wang sweater (buy at Net-e-Porter here).

And just in case you don't fall for the perfect neon sweater (or even if you do!), try the neon satchel which all the fashionistas are crazy about. If you don't know the Cambridge Satchel Company yet, you should. Specially now that they have a neon collection! Their satchels are great quality, have the perfect colors and can be worn as a shoulder bag or a clutch, can it get better? Yes, they are surprisingly affordable, they come in different sizes (11'', 13'', 14'' and 15'') and prices range from £98 to £108. Buy them here.
My favorite is the yellow one but I have seen it so many times that I think I will fall for the pink... How about you?

Ethnic prints - Ikat and Navajo

When I discovered last season's ethnic patterns I immediately thought "can I wear this and how?". If you have been following my blog, you have probably noticed that I am positive about (almost) any trend. So even though it took me some I found the best way to wear this trend: "wearing" Ikat nail wraps from Nail Couture LA (NCLA). NCLA is a company which sells nail wraps and nail polishes and they have the perfect Ikat nail wraps, easy to apply and long lasting if applied correctly (which I did myself!). I will soon write a post on the amazing NCLA nail wraps as I want to try them all, in the meantime check them here.

I wore my perfect Ikat nails with Current/Elliott leopard skinnies, off-white Equipment blouse, Zara wedges, bracelets from Giles & Brother and Massimo Dutti, vintage snake ring.

Coming back to ethnic prints, now that I tamed my Ikat nails I feel that I really want more. I've picked here a selection of  my favorite (affordable) Ikat & Navajo inspired items. Another of my favorites is the Sandro's cardigan featured in a previous post (have a look here). Have you adopted this trend? What's your favorite item?

1. Matthew Williamson Ikat scarf (buy at Farfetch here), 2. Zara navajo jeans (buy here), 3. Sandro sweatshirt (buy here), 4. Pimkie skirt (buy here), 5. NCLA Ikat nails (buy here), 6. Vanessa Bruno Athé (buy at ASOS here).

All I want for Christmas is... a shoulder bag

As a mother of two I find shoulder bags to be very practical since I need to have my hands free when I go out with the boys. But even if you don't have kids, isn't a shoulder bag just perfect to go shopping or if you travel and carry luggage?
If you don't have a shoulder bag or at least a fashionable one (reminder: a nylon bag is NOT fashionable!), this is definitely a good item to ask your Santa :-)

1. Chloe Marcie messenger bag (buy at Matches Fashion here), 2. NEW Evelina Mulberry khaki satchel (buy here), 3. Gerard Darel "Retro" satchel (buy here), 4. Marc Jacobs Jane burgundy bag (buy at Mytheresa here), 5. Zara dark green messenger bag (buy here), 6. Miu Miu suede shoulder bag (buy at Net-a-Porter here), 7. Alexander Wang Marion bag (buy at Barneys here)

With these very different options I am sure you can find at least one shoulder bag for your taste. Chloe Marcie's messenger is like the entire Marcie collection, classic and beautiful design with the softest leather. Mulberry's Evelina satchel is a brand new bag from the Spring/Summer 2012 collection which you can already buy online, it will definitely become one of next year's hits. Gerard Darel's two tone satchel has this french chic look, can you resist? Marc Jacobs' Jane shoulder bag has the perfect burgundy color and vintage touch. Zara's green messenger bag is trendy and affordable. Miu Miu's two tone suede shoulder bag is... how can I put it in words... PERFECT. And Alexander Wang's Marion is still a hit after two seasons, I'm guessing it will continue to be popular for some time.

For me, I hesitate between the Chloe and the Miu Miu bags,  but I will have to make up my mind if I want Santa to get  it for me. How about you, do you have a shoulder bag? Which of these is your favorite?

Long sleeve mini dresses

The reason why long sleeve mini dresses deserve a post is because I adore ♥ them. For some reason I love the idea of hiding your arms and showing off your legs...From the bodycon tight-fit dress to the loose sweater dress you have infinite options dress this season. I've chosen here my favorite shape of the moment, the shift dress with a 60s feeling. My inspiration was this The Row dress available at Net-a- Porter, just gorgeous!!

The Row dress at Net-a-Porter

I've picked here a few dresses in the same style. They are all quite different but they all appealed to me because they combine other trends as well: sequins, color block, flower prints, nude, jewel tones color, leather sleeves... How about you, what do you think about this style and which of these would you choose?
As for me, I have an eye on the DVF's dress and it seems that Net-a-Porter international sales start tomorrow, so I might get lucky :-)

Winter flower power

Winter flowers is a trend that has been growing on me. As I am not really a flower girl I'm usually not drawn to flowers but as I discovered these winter patterns to be edgy and chic rather than girly and romantic this trend was immediately on my radar. Besides the florals from the obvious Celine, Jill Sander and Zara perfectly analyzed by Tendances de Mode, my inspiration was this floral Peter Som's dress which I completely love but cannot really buy or wear in real life. I've picked here some realistic pieces that totally convinced me and which (some) are quite affordable.

1. ASOS flower peep-toe pump (buy here)
2. Diane Von Furstenberg Wrap dress (buy at Matches Fashion here)
3. Zara blouse (buy here)
4. Marc by Marc Jacobs skirt (buy at Mytheresa here)
5. Topshop leggings (buy here)
7. Liberty London scarf (buy here)
8. Jagger Edge iphone case (buy at Shopbop here)
9. Vanessa Bruno silk-crepe pants (buy at Net-a-Porter)

I'm not a fan of the total floral look though, I would go for one good floral piece and pair it with some good basics. For instance, pair Topshop's floral leggings with an oversized chunky sweater or wear Zara's flowers blouse with a tailor suit for a day at the office. For a more classic and timeless look go for the DVF floral dress and pair it with super high black suede platform pumps like my favorite Choos, or add the Liberty scarf over a Camel trench. For a no-risk option go for a floral iphone case.

And since flowers will continue to be seen everywhere throughout Spring and Summer why not give it a try now?

Burgundy and emerald green are my two favorite colors this season, burgundy is a rich classic color that suits most skin tones and hair colors and which can be combined with pretty much everything from your wardrobe (can burgundy be the new neutral?), emerald green is elegant and glamorous, you just need to choose the perfect tone for you.

What color are your skinny jeans?

Colored jeans is a trend that just makes me happy... :)
I am a true jeans lover, I've always been and always will. I have a (shameful) very complete jeans collection with bootcuts, skinnies, flares, relaxed, boyfriend, dark rinse wash, medium-color wash, light wash, distressed, black, grey, white, colored, patterned... oups, have I shared too much?

As I was saying, I love the colored jeans trend, it adds color to my wardrobe and has made me change the way I was wearing jeans. My jeans were "neutrals" so most of the time the key-piece of my outfit was something else. Now, things have changed with a colored jeans as the jeans becomes the star of the outfit and I LOVE this. The great thing about colored jeans is that you can pick the color you like, and for the moment anything is possible!

As I am big fan of skinny jeans, I've picked here skinny colored jeans. My favorite at this moment is the obvious burgundy jeans but I think I will soon move to the emerald... What do you think?

Lazy sunday

It's sunday afternoon and everyone is sleeping at our place... The boys, the husband, the dog and even the gold fish seem to be napping (wait, the gold fish might be dead... oups). In the silence of this quiet home I'm realizing once more how much I enjoy sundays and wearing comfortable clothes.
For me, comfort means jeans. Some people will not agree but I insist,  if you wear a stretch fabric jeans with a perfect cut and size it will be like wearing your pajamas. Most of the time I wear skinny jeans but on sundays I usually wear more relaxed styles and today is no exception as I'm wearing my distressed skinny boyfriend 7FAM. I also made a picture of my outfit, but I'm not sure I will do this very often. I love fashion blogs with outfit pictures but I'm not sure this is me, but we'll see. I'm wearing a GAP striped sweater, a burgundy scarf (old) and Topshop's Ambush boots.

I also picked some of my favorite skinny (slightly relaxed) jeans for the weekend which I highly recommend. How about you, what are you wearing on sundays??

The affordable option: Zara straight/skinny jeans (buy here)
The straight/skinny jeans with the perfect color from J Brand (buy at Net-a-Porter here)
The GORGEOUS jean from Current/Elliott, perfect in every way, except for the price (buy at Shopbop here)
