Obsessed with white shoes

I was never a big fan of white high-heeled shoes, they always reminded me of the 80s in a bad way. Until recently, I only thought they looked good on a bride or... on Carrie Bradshaw. Otherwise, white pumps were for me more closer to a fashion faux-pas than to a lesson of style. But some very talented designers and other streetstylers have managed to change my mind...

Alexander Wang came up with a fierce pair of white shoes this season which didn't go unnoticed in the fashion bloggers' world. Just have a look at how northern beauties, Hedvig and Caroline, are wearing these, G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S !

After featuring a few white pointy-toe wedges in the Céline Resort 2012 collection, Phoebe Philo confirmed that these were more than just a one-time trend. At the Céline fall/winter 2012 runway show most models were wearing a pair of the coolest pair of white pointy-toe wedges.

And to try this trend out, here are some styles available online.

From top left: pointy-toe wedges (mango), open-toe shoes (mango), Stuart Weitzman stilettos (neiman marcus), cut-out stilettos (aldo), ankle-strap pointy-toe shoes (alexander wang), Jerome C Rousseau glitter pumps (shopbop)

I don't know about you but I am sold, white shoes will look super cool this summer but in the fall. I'm eyeing the Mango pair, very similar to the Céline wedges and if I'm lucky to find them in Portugal (holidays coming up sooooooooooon !) they will be mine !

  1. I still have my ecru weeding shoes, and I was thinking that I will never put them again, but after this post I may change my mind ;-)

  2. J'aime bien les chaussures blanches, mais en plat (sandales ou ballerines), pas trop à talons. Pour les talons, je préfère 1000 X tes Nudes (Sluuuurp).

  4. I'm partial to Alexander Wang shoes. They're fierce! You'll have to admit that reading blogs can be a dangerous hobby. Seeing images of gorgeous ladies makes one want to dash out to buy whatever they're wearing.

    1. Exactly, I love fashion blogs for inspiration but I have to admit that I have (more than once) bought something after seeing on a fashion blogger. But that's the game, I have also bought (many) things after seeing them on a magazine or on my friends. xx

  5. I love the Wang and Céline shoes. I'm not sure I'd go for them though as once a little dust gets into the seams/stitching, they start to look shabby.

  6. That's true, you need to be extra careful with white shoes, but they look sooooo pretty when they're new ;) xx
